Malaysia Introduces Free Play Pickleball Stadium in Kuala Lumpur

A Golden Opportunity for Young Picklers in Malaysia
A Golden Opportunity for Young Picklers in Malaysia

Pickleball, the rapidly growing sport that blends elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong, is now more accessible to Malaysian youth than ever before. Thanks to a groundbreaking initiative, young players can enjoy free access to professional pickleball facilities at the newly established Pickleball Stadium at Kenanga Wholesale City. This initiative, spearheaded by E-Motion Sdn Bhd through a public-private partnership, also includes expert training and coaching, creating an unparalleled opportunity for aspiring athletes to master the game.

For those unfamiliar, pickleball is a highly engaging sport that is easy to learn and requires minimal equipment—just a paddle, a plastic ball, and a court. This initiative aims to eliminate financial barriers and encourage participation by making courts freely available to students and young players.

This initiative is a collaborative effort between sports organizations, local councils, and pickleball enthusiasts who are passionate about growing the sport in Malaysia. By providing free access to high-quality courts, stakeholders hope to nurture young talent, strengthen the pickleball community, and elevate Malaysia’s presence in international competitions.

“This initiative aligns with the MADANI administration’s vision and the National Sports Vision 2030, ensuring free access for students while promoting an active lifestyle through government and private sector partnerships,” stated Hannah Yeoh, Malaysia’s Minister of Youth and Sports, in a Facebook announcement.

She further emphasized that “each of these courts is not just a facility but a symbol of hope, fostering a generation that is active, committed, and united. I urge associations, entrepreneurs, and private sector players to collaborate with the Ministry of Youth and Sports to invest in our youth through CSR initiatives and strengthen Malaysia’s status as a sporting nation.”

Pickleball Courts Open for Free Play Starting April 2025

For young Malaysians eager to stay active, socialize, and embrace a new sport, this initiative presents an incredible opportunity. Unlike traditional sports that require years of training to compete, pickleball is beginner-friendly and engaging from the start. With a mix of strategy, agility, and quick reflexes, every match is an exciting experience.

The initiative is expected to gain significant traction among students, young professionals, and even families. The Pickleball Stadium features 16 professional-grade courts, open for free play on weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., starting April 2, 2025.

With free access to world-class courts, young Malaysians can now step onto the court, paddle in hand, and experience the thrill of pickleball. Whether they aim to compete professionally or simply enjoy the game for fun, this initiative ensures that opportunities are limitless.

So, if you haven’t tried pickleball yet, now is the perfect time. Grab a paddle, hit the court, and discover why this sport is taking the world by storm. Best of all, Malaysian youth can now play for free!
