Fulham have reached an agreement with Arsenal to sign midfielder Emile Smith Rowe for an initial £27 million, with potential add-ons of £7 million.
Smith Rowe’s transfer marks a club record for Fulham, with the add-ons linked to the club’s success in Cup and European competitions.
The 23-year-old midfielder has been absent from Arsenal’s last two pre-season matches as the deal was finalized. An academy graduate, Smith Rowe has been a fan favorite but has fallen behind Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard, and Bukayo Saka in Arsenal’s lineup.
Smith Rowe has earned three caps for England, the most recent in 2022.
In other news, Arsenal have signed Italy defender Riccardo Calafiori from Bologna for a fee potentially rising to £42 million.
