Relegated teams from the previous season include Almería, Granada, and Cádiz. Almería was the first to be relegated after a 1–3 loss to Getafe on 27 April 2024, ending a two-year stint in La Liga. Granada followed after a 1–0 loss to Mallorca, suffering immediate relegation. Cádiz was the final team to be relegated after a 0–0 draw against Las Palmas on 19 May 2024, concluding their four-year stay in the top tier. The teams promoted from the Segunda División are Valladolid, Leganés, and Espanyol. Valladolid secured their promotion on 26 May 2024, followed by Leganés on 2 June 2024. Espanyol claimed the final promotion spot by winning the play-off final against Oviedo.
